It was just yesterday we learned you've been a little boy all along. Despite our best guesses, we couldn't have known what joy would fill our hearts when we heard the news.
I cried tears of overwhelming happiness as I patiently observed the technician passing the ultrasound wand over my belly, examining and measuring all of your tiny parts. We saw your fingers, your toes, your stomach, your brain, your eyes, your nose, even your beating heart. You wiggled and waved, rolled over to face us. The sight of you, inside me, was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
It's been so real ever since, this sense of elation, this deep and all encompassing love. Daddy sings your name into my belly and my heart skips a beat. We are already a family. You are already home.
